when i was 16 i was confused n worried n cried a lot
now i am 17 and nothing much has changed

an age i feel is in between
adolescence and pre teen
not very pristine
as when i was thirteen

hello how are you
im fine how do you do
im swell but i don't really like school
oh why is that may i ask you?

i walk through hallways by myself
i often feel like dust on a bookshelf
and i sleep at least two hours a day
on my hard desk wiping my saliva away

i often have lunch on my own
reading a book that i ought to have outgrown
i often get looks by passers by
they probably wonder if i have any friends

but of course i do
and they're so cool
and im so boring
i probably get them snoring

and when i excuse myself from class,
i walk in the hallways,
and i can hear ian curtis singing,
"waallkk in sileenncee, don't walk awaaaay in silence."
and that's just what i did.
except i walked away in silence too
